Strengthening Local Government Capacity to Develop School Education Sector Plans (SESP) and Budgets to bring about quality learning in Lumbini Province.

This program is being implemented across 28 local governments in seven districts of Lumbini Province Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Rolpa, and Rukum East. The objectives of the program to Strengthen the capacity of local governments to develop school education sector plans and budgets. Strengthen local governments’ capacity to establish child-friendly systems by modeling CFS for enabling quality learning outcomes.  Increase the capacity of schools and communities for evidence-based education planning and provide quality services promoting equitable access and learning in preschools and schools. Ensure recovery of learning losses and acceleration of learning in the wake of COVID-19 in selected LGs.

Project Objectives

  1. Build the capacity of local governments to design and implement school education sector plans and budgets, while establishing child‑friendly systems that foster quality learning outcomes.
  2. Enhance the ability of schools and communities to engage in evidence-driven planning and deliver inclusive, high-quality services that ensure equitable access to preschools and schools.
  3. Support schools and local governments in addressing learning losses and driving accelerated progress in student learning outcomes in the aftermath of the pandemic
