About Us

Our Story

Sports enthusiasts established this organization as Kalika Sports Club (KSC) in 1981. In its initial period, KSC aimed at preservation and promotion of sports and cultural activities. It entered into social sector in 1992 and since then working to achieve its vision of a self-reliant society. Along with the shift in focus it also changed its name from KSC to KSSC (Kalika Self-reliance Social Centre) in 1997. KSSC is registered with the District Administration Office on 2050 Asadh 17 with registration no 32, Kapilvastu, and affiliated to Social Welfare Council on 2053 Kartik 19 with affiliation no. 4889. KSSC is a non-governmental social development organization working for positive changes in society.

Our Objective

  • Improve the quality of life of target community through mobilization of local resources and means and make them able to access external resources
  • Sensitize & capacitate to duty-bearers on their responsibility & accountability to provide quality service to right holders
  • Enhance capability, make empower and responsible right-holders through capacity building, skill development, transfer knowledge and building their network
  • Sensible, capable and empower community people on women empowerment and child right issues
  • Promotion and conservation of the environment through eco-friendly development initiatives
  • Improve quality of life of target community through increase income, provide quality education and health & sanitation activities
  • Promote various activities to reduce local level conflict, communal distrust, gender discrimination, traditional thoughts and superstitions
  • Internalize human value principles on social mobilization process
  • Conduct activities on disaster risk reduction, preparedness and relief
  • Mitigate stigma related to sexual minorities particularly LGBTQI++
  • Enable PWDs live a dignified life by empowering and accessing them to resources and realization of rights.
